Digital notary service (数字公证服务 shùzì gōngzhèng fúwù) refers to a type of service using an electronic method to create permanent evidence for notary purpose. It is achieved by using the transaction scripting language to take advantage of the security and resilience of the distributed and timestamped ledger.
- 数字 (shùzì) as in digital devices (数字设备 shùzì shèbèi, or 电子设备 diànzǐ shèbèi).
- 公证 (gōngzhèng) as in notary public (公证人 gōngzhèng rén). A notary public refers to someone legally empowered to witness signatures and certify a document’s validity and to take depositions.
- 服务 (fúwù) as in postal service (邮政服务 yóuzhèng fúwù) or public service (公共服务 gōnggòng fúwù).
