Ex-ante real interest rate (事前实际利率 shìqián shíjì lìlǜ) refers to the prediction of the real interest rate, which is the nominal interest rate minus the prospective inflation rate.
- 事前 (shìqián) as in prior audit (事前审计 shìqián shěnjì) or prior supervision (事前监督 shìqián jiāndū). Ex-ante (事前 shìqián) is Latin for before (前 qián) the event (事 shì).
- 实际 (shíjì) as in practical problem (实际问题 shíjì wèntí) or actual value (实际值 shíjìzhí).
- 利率 (lìlǜ) derives from
利 (lì) as in profit (利润 lìrùn) or interest (利息 lìxi); 率 (lǜ) as in growth rate (增长率 zēngzhǎng lǜ) or ratio (比率 bǐlǜ).
