Exchange rate crisis (汇率危机 huìlǜ wēijī) refers to the phenomenon that the fluctuation of exchange rate is beyond the range of a country’s affordability, which usually shown as a sharp decline in the value of the exchange rate of a country’s currency.
- 汇 (huì) as in (汇款 huìkuǎn), (汇钱 huìqián) or converge (汇合 huìhé).
- 率 (lǜ) as in ratio (比率 bǐlǜ), heart rate (心率 xīnlǜ), probability (几率 jīǜ), or efficiency (功率 gōnglǜ).
- 危 (wēi) as in danger (危险 wēixiǎn) or low risk (低危 dīwēi).
- 机 (jī) as in chance 机会 (jīhuì) or plane (飞机 fēijī).
