A fixed line (固定线 gùdìng xiàn) refers to a vertical line in the graphical analysis of the central bank balance sheet when exchange rate is fixed. The central bank balance sheet must correspond to points on the vertical fixed line.
- 固 (gù) as in solid (坚固 jiāngù) or firm and stable (稳固 wěngù).
- 定 (dìng) as in certain (确定 quèdìng), deciding (决定 juédìng) or definition (定义 dìngyì).
- 线 (xiàn) as in curve (曲线 qǔxiàn) or airline (航线 hángxiàn).
