Revaluation (货币升值 huòbì shēngzhí) refers to an increasing in the price of its currency against foreign currencies by increasing the legal gold content of the domestic currency.
- 货 (huò) as in goods (货物 huòwù) or truck (货车 huòchē); 币 (bì) as in coin (钱币 qiánbì) or RMB (人民币 rénmínbì). 货币 (huòbì) means money or currency, as in cybermoney (电子货币 diànzǐ huòbì) or international currency (国际货币 guójì huòbì).
- 升 (shēng) as in upswing (上升 shàngshēng), rasing (升高 shēnggāo) or promoting (提升 tíshēng); 值 (zhí) as in value (价值 jiàzhí), worthing (值得 zhídé) or valuable (值钱 zhíqián). 升值 (shēngzhí) means appreciate or raise in value.
