Reversal of factor intensities (生产要素密集度逆转 shēngchǎn yàosù mìjídù nìzhuǎn) means that a good or industry is relatively capital-intensive compared with other goods or industries within a country or region but relatively labor-intensive compared with other goods or industries within another country or region.

  • (shēng) as in life (生活 shēnghuó or 生命 shēngmìng), angry (生气 shēngqì) or birthday (生日 shēng); (chǎn) as in product (产品 chǎnpǐn), industry (产业 chǎnyè) or property (财产 cáichǎn). 生产 (shēngchǎn) means producing or manufacturing.
  • (yào) as in important (重要 zhòngyào), need (需要 xūyào) or main (主要 zhǔyào); (sù) as in element (因素 yīnsù or 元素 yuánsù) or quality (素质 sùzhì). 要素 (yàosù) refers to an element in the general case but here refers to production elements or factors.
  • (mì) as in secret (秘密 mìmì)or back room (密室 mìshì); (jí) as in concentrating (集中 jízhōng), collectivity (集体 jítǐ) or gathering (集合 jíhé); (dù) as in system (制度 zhìdù), speed (速度 sùdù) or attitude (态度 tàidù). 密集度 (mìjídù) describes the extent or intensity to which some objects are distributed.
  • (nì) as in adversity (逆境 nìjìng) or reversible (可逆 kěnì); (zhuǎn) as in change (转变 zhuǎnbiàn or 转移 zhuǎnyí) or revolving (旋转 xuánzhuǎn). 逆转 (nìzhuǎn) is an act or process turning towards an opposite direction.
